EN: Building and insulating with straw is a technique that has been widespread in the US since the beginning of the 20th century. It offers the possibility to erect and / or isolate houses quickly, easily and naturally, but above all also very cost-effectively. Since the seventies, this technology has also been increasingly accepted in Europe and Asia, primarily in the area of low-energy houses. In addition, straw can also be described as one of the most ecological building materials since it is obtained from the waste product of a renewable regional raw material and is completely degradable. Straw is present in large quantities in our region and is also often burned. If this straw were used as a building material, it would not have to be burnt, which in turn would help protect the environment.
DE: Das Bauen und Dämmen mit Stroh ist eine Technik, die in den USA schon seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts weit verbreitet ist. Sie bietet die Möglichkeit, schnell, einfach und natürlich, vor allem aber auch sehr kostengünstig Häuser zu errichten bzw. zu dämmen. Seit den siebziger Jahren findet diese Technik auch in Europa und Asien zunehmend Anklang und hier vorrangig im Bereich der Niedrigenergiehäuser. Darüber hinaus kann Stroh auch als einer der ökologischsten Baustoffe bezeichnet werden, da es aus dem Abfallprodukt eines nachwachsenden regionalen Rohstoffes gewonnen wird und vollständig abbaubar ist. Stroh ist in unserer Region in großen Mengen vorhanden und wird sehr oft auch verbrannt. Wenn man dieses Stroh als Baustoff verwenden würde – müsste es nicht verbrannt werden, was wiederum zum Schutz der Umwelt beitragen würde.
